ABOUT US

YOUNG WHOOPY

As an intimate form of art and an extension of oneself, Young Whoopy is a slow fashion unisex urban brand based and created in the Netherlands. My name is Shannon Weekers, and I am the founder of the Young Whoopy brand.

Growing up surrounded by fashion, allowed me to appreciate the beauty of expressing oneself through clothing. I have always had a huge passion and love for clothes and how they can make people feel. In my eyes, clothes go much deeper than a simple fabric on a body, but I rather see them as a form of self-expression of mind and soul.

I spent my childhood between the colorful fabrics and patterns in Surinam, and later life brought me to the Netherlands. This change allowed me to deeply embrace and make mine the differences among cultures, which I mostly felt in the way of dressing as a means of expressing myself.

Fashion is what I now want to share as a result of the important relationship that I see between the clothes and the owner. It empowers me to see how much joy, self-love, and confidence it brings to own the clothes that one is wearing. So together with my team, I created a brand that could reflect this, that could express personalities and make people feel the best version of themselves. All pieces are handmade by me with unconditional love.

MISION / VISION

MISION

With unique handmade pieces, bold colors, graphic prints, and limited collections, we at Young Whoopy strive to be part of the journey of one’s expression. We do this through creating clothes that help you from being who you want to be, to dressing how you want to dress. We believe that the choice of clothes is never casual, but it is instead showing untold feelings or an unexpressed personality, which we are here to help you unfold.

VISION

Young Whoopy is here to make a change in the world by being sustainable for the planet and people. We want to make sure that fast fashion will be replaced by high-quality and environmentally friendly unique pieces of garments. To achieve this, we are starting to let our stock and fabrics by choosing pre-order collections. In a few years, we'd also love to see our fabrics made of natural materials.
